Honouring artist and plantsman, Cedric Morris, the design captures his cherished iris and the plant’s sculptural qualities through fine, expressive linework and loose, sketch like details. With a nod to traditional block printing or linocut techniques, these statuesque flowers transform into dramatic graphic forms. This print is part of the third chapter in this collection, Painted Garden, which explores the vibrant fusion of colour, pattern, and texture discovered in the process of studying artists who took inspiration from their own cultivated garden landscape – capturing the complex relationship between nature and creativity.
