This large-scale dramatic floral draws inspiration from tapestries dating back to the Middle Ages, created in the style of mille-fleurs (meaning ‘thousand flowers’). The stylised florals within the six tapestries of The Lady and the Unicorn were studied and reimagined through the medium of bold promarker strokes to depict the wool and silk threads. Large areas of ground colour contemporise their medieval aesthetic, allowing for a shock of bold colour.
